Camcorder App with Audio Gain Control?

Hi All,

Is there a camcorder app/video recording app available anywhere that has an audio gain/input control? I've tried recording some live concert clips with both my Rezound and my older Incredible, and get the same overloaded, distorted audio. The sound levels are too loud to be captured properly. If the input levels could be reduced, this would solve the problem. I'm running the stock, unrooted phone.

TIA for any help.

I believe there's a free version, as well.

Per the description, this is an audio recording app only.

Sorry, I glossed over that. Fyi, audio level adjustments in video recording does not seem to be a reality, yet, for rooted or stock Androids. People posted $$ reward for the first dev. to discover a hack over in Samsung forum over on xda-devs and no one has cracked it. That thread was started 7/16/11 and the last posted reply was on 4/2/12.

Yeah, stumbled on that - thanks. Its a shame this parameter seems to be so hard to crack. Would love to be able to get decent sounding concert clips out of my phone.

It's odd to me that threads been around awhile on XDA. It doesn't even seem like any devs. have even looked into creating a solution. I understand a GB solution is dead. I'm highly surprised that any of the GNex devs. have done nothing with it, yet. Wish I knew what's making it so difficult to crack.

It's unfortuanate. The Droid X actually had a feature for the camcorder called "Concert Mode". It worked great. Moved over to the Galaxy Nexus, recorded a few clips at a show, and sounds horrible. I guess Motoblur has one thing over stock.

It wasn't a best of both worlds scenario, given how horrible the camcorder was filming a show. White balance was deplorable on the DX 1 & 2

Concert mode? Isn't that more or less encouraging pirated shows? Not to say that I care one way or the other but that sounds like a sketchy title. Anyway, back on topic. Does DSP manager (or any EQ) only do output or does it adjust the input as well?

What happens when you turn stereo recording off - any improvement?

After last weekend, I wouldn't have the cajones to record something that could fall under a copyright claim or protection. Ish is getting silly, these days. I read something about some dude who shot a few short clips of some scenes in that new Avengers movie. Just to test out his cellphones video recording. Cinema manager called the cops, they came in and arrested him, confiscated his phone and then carted him off to jail and he's getting prosecuted federally for piracy. Piracy sucks but that is taking it to ridiculous levels.

I'm not sure about what's in CM9 but I don't remember using it for input previously so I assume output only. It was pretty basic for an equalizer and audio boost. DSPM was one of the few things I disliked w/ CM7 but it's the only thing I can say I was disappointed by from the CM crew. That thing was a constant irritant w/ all the FCs. Even if it did have input it would've just crashed the second you tried to use it. Hope they got it's act together for ICS. Even if they fixed every ailment, I'm done with it.

I've been using DSP Manager for a while and it's been stable the whole way through.

DSP + Stable= I'm glad to hear that it's not a headache for you. During my brief tenure with it on CM7, it was just a showcase for force closes and errors. Nothing helped get it stabilized, it was to erratic, so I dumped it. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

Dsp manager, CM10 - 4 levels, input. I can record rock concerts!!!! Nice video ... and audio!:)
