Camera App Flashing Non Stop! Help!

I have googled the issue that I am dealing with and have found no accurate answer as to what I'm dealing with, so I thought I'd try here.

The Issue: Just recently, whenever I open my camera app, the screen just flashes from the camera to black, and so on. So one second it will show the camera, and the next second it will show a black screen, and it will continue repeating. I have turned my phone off and on as well as taken out the battery. I have no idea what is going on with the camera, but I was wondering if anybody knew or had an idea as to how I could fix it. Thanks!

Reboot. If that doesn't work, try an alternative camera app. And if that doesn't work, take it back.

Okay so I rebooted it (once again) and I still have the same issue. I then tried an alternative camera app and that seemed to create an alternative solution. HOWEVER, I would like for my actual camera application to work. I think I'll perform a factory reset and see what happens.

Before doing a reset try clearing cache and data in the camera app.

I had this same issue today. Verizon told me to reset to factory. I REALLY didn't want to have to go through setting my entire phone back up the way I like it so I looked around in their own forums and what do you know I found a solution that worked for me. (Wish they would track their own forum better and relay this information to callers, UGH). There is this setting called "Geo-tag photos" that was causing my issue. It's a setting where the application can track the GPS of where the picture was taken. I unclicked it and the problem went away. It would be a nice feature, but they obviously have an issue they need to get resolved and can't even figure out that it is occuring. So until then, I can do without having my picture locations tracked. I hope this helps someone else.

Quick Tip - I had to turn off my GPS to be able to get into the menu to change the setting (with all the blinking I couldn't get into the menu).

All I had to do was turn of GPS and location and turn it back on and problem solved. Not only was the camera flashing before, but the keyboard was opening and closing in Facebook. Fixed all problems with the GPS solution. Nice post!
