Camera app that allows setting default zoom level and works in landscape mode?

I need to take photos of the teacher's slides during class. The zoom level is fixed, by where my seat is relative to the screen, but the time between photos is variable, and usually the screen lock times out. I need to be able to quickly re-activate the camera, as in double clicking the home button, and it's a big pita to have to reset the zoom every time. The built-in camera app doesn't seem to allow setting this function. I've tried Proshot, but it can't operate in landscape mode, apparently. Anyone know of a candidate camera app? I'm using Android 7.0 on a Galaxy S6

Since your device doesn't actually have optical zoom, any 'zoom' level is actually just a processed crop of a 1x picture. You'll be better off if you take the picture with no zoom and at the highest image quality setting. Then, when you zoom into the saved image, you should still be able to see very similar results than when taking a picture with zoom...

Well, my ignorance is vast indeed; I should have known the S6 lacks optical zoom. However, I do know from painful experience, that simply culling the day's photos, un-zoomed, is intolerably frustrating, at least using the built-in Gallery. The details needed to decide whether this one is a keeper are invisible until the image is zoomed, and the zooming/comparing process is maddening. Maybe if the editing app could lock a zoom level it'd do the job easily, but otherwise it's actually worth the effort to zoom the shot as it's taken. That, too, sounds like a separate forum query.
