Camera Auto HDR

Hi guys,

Has anyone else noticed that the camera in auto mode with HDR on isn't great at brightening the screen / image? I have to keep using the manual mode to get more light in my pictures.

I have sent an email to LG stating that the HDR needs to be more aggressive as its really soft at the moment.

Let me know your experiences / tips

I have quite a few darker pics and didn't realize what was causing it. But I do have HDR auto on.

Interesting; I've now turned off HDR Auto... I'll see what sort of results I get.

Also note that selfie mode has it's own settings, so you might have to turn off HDR Auto for both.

Yeah I noticed that too. I changed a setting for the regular camera, then flipped over to the front camera and saw my setting reversed...at first I thought my changes weren't sticking, but then I realized they each have their own settings.

Agree that the hdr mode needs to be more aggressive. My m7 was much better at lighting up the darker areas. Thought it may have just been me.

I thought I had the same issue but finally this was due to my screen low brightness that I put...Maybe you have low brightness % too ? Just wondering...

HDR seems to be working fine and brighting up my images plenty here. Keep in mind, Auto HDR mode is only going to use HDR if there is some really bright lighting in the scene. It shows a little white HDR icon over near the shutter button when it's going to use it. If you feel you need HDR but Auto HDR isn't turning it on, just set HDR to on instead of auto.

I think that when you use the camera, it should disregard what screen brightness you have and turn the screen to full brightness until you exit the camera app
