Camera draining battery when not in use?

On numerous occasions I have picked up my phone to use it and notice that the battery is draining excessively fast. Upon having this wtf moment, I will check the the battery usage and it's usually the camera draining all the battery, just today it had been at top with 69% usage. It's important to note that I haven't used my camera at all today. I did not even open the app. I have no idea what is going on? Has anyone had this happen to them? Any idea how to fix it? It doesn't happen all the time but it's an annoyance when it does happen.

Sounds like you have an app that is using the camera, what have you installed recently? Any smart stay like apps? Gestures apps? etc

Could also be that sometimes the camera app stays open, try swiping it away from the recent apps
