Android Central Question

My phone fell from a relatively short distance but on to tile now my camera will not focus properly. I read somewhere you may just need to plug something back in as the camera loosened when it fell or change the gamer module.
Here's an example of pictures it takes. Does the module need to be replaced?

edit: I can't post links to the picture so I'm not sure how I can show you

Thanks.

First, they look pretty well focused to me. (They might not be if you print them 8-1/2X11, but the definition on a website is pretty bad, so it's hard to tell.)

Second, it's possible that the plus (from the camera to the motherboard) loosened just enough so that the camera is still working, but not focusing. It's a lot more likely that something broke in the focusing mechanism in the camera. In either case, I wouldn't advise that you open the phone and try to replug the connector. that usually leads to "now that I put the phone back together X and Y stopped working". So it has to go to a repair shop, whether it needs a new camera module (they're not all that expensive) or it just needs the cable plugged back in. Most of the labor is opening the phone and putting it back together, so the price difference between loose cable and broken camera module won't be much different.

The photos are pretty bad compared to what they were before the fall unfortunately. The camera had crisp fine detail and now when you look at the photos it looks like it's from a camera from 2009 or something.
