Camera not loading

So I can't get my camera to work. Every time I open it, I have tried restarting the phone. It closes itself. I am on the June update using Pixel XL 2. Anyone else?

Try installing a different camera app. If that one still closes, your cameras may be bad (doubtful, though, that they both went bad at the same time). Otherwise, you may have to flash the factory firmware (use Deuces Bootloop-Recovery & Flashing Script and tell it to not format Userdata).

OP, have you tried rebooting into Safe mode? That would be a quicker check than reloading the firmware.

After you've tried other apps and safe mode try a factory reset but back up your data first. I've had issues where I thought I had a hardware problem and that fixed it.

I had Google assist. They did everything in their power. We even tried safe mode and factory data reset. Nothing worked so they said they would replace. Bad thing is that I dropped the phone today and cracked the screen. I am screwed right?

Not sure but that doesn't sound good. They may even think you dropped it prior to the camera not working. Do you have insurance?
