Camera not working

Good day everyone,

Hoping to find some answers here regarding my LG V10 issue. I can't seem to use my phone's camera. I think it's a software issue instead of a hardware, because sometimes when I restart my phone it works. Then it stops working again. This works once in a blue moon.

Here are some error that pop up:
Opening the camera app:
"Unfortunately, Camera has stopped.

Pressing the flashlight icon from the dropdown:
"Flashlight unavailable while in Camera or apps using flash."

When I open the camera using Messenger or Instagram:
Just plain black.

I've also tried clearing the cache and data from the app setting. Still no luck.

Thanks in advance to anyone that has the answers. Everything else with the phone is working, except the camera. Sucks to not be able to use the LG V10's camera, since it has a pretty good one.

Welcome to Android Central! While I'm not very well-versed in cameras, perhaps try the following:

- put the phone into Safe Mode and see if the situation persists
- if you've downloaded any recent apps or any recent camera apps, try uninstalling them and see if that solves anything
- if all of your information, pictures, etc are backed up, a factory reset could be a last resort
