Camera opens 1 out of 10 times I turn the screen on...

So 1 out of 10 times I turn the screen on the factory camera app starts. This is especially frustrating when I try to answer a call and miss it because I'm scrambling to back out of the camera app. I'm running lollipop on AT&T nothing fancy.
Any ideas?

That's a new one on me! Is there any possible way you are accidentally hitting the camera shortcut? If not I would try to clear the phone's cache. If you don't use the stock camera app you could disable it. Last resort maybe a factory reset? That's all I can come up with. If I think of anything else I'll let you know.

Thanks for the reply! No I'm not hitting the camera shortcut, and I have tried all of those options except a factory reset, just don't want to loose everything I had for the past 2 years (and unfortunately everything will not back up ). the weird thing is when I take the phone out of my pocket, turn on the screen, then slightly shake the device, it will do it every time. I looked for hours on the device to find some sort of option that enables this, but no luck. The only thing I can think of is this happened during the lollipop update. Xda had someone with this same issue, but no helpful replies. Oh well I guess a factory reset is a must :/

There are options under controls, motions, shake. Maybe its set up there to work when you shake the phone?
