My cousin called me today and asked to try the camera feature during a voice call and I was clueless of what he was talking about. He said that on the call screen he has options for camera and one-way camera. I was still clueless so I asked him to send me a screen shot of what he was referring to. I personally do not have this feature. We both have V10's and we're both on Verizon. Is it a feature I need to activate? pay for? ...etc. Anyone have an idea of what this is?

That's your Advanced Calling. Go into your settings, Advanced Calling and see if it's activated. I do believe you can activate it from your phone. Also, you must have Data on to use it and the other person (your cousin) also has to have it activated.

This must be a Verizon feature. Can't find that option on the AT&T V10.

Nice... I just looked into this on their website and found the following:

Advanced Calling 1.0 is available at no additional charge, and HD Voice is included in existing plans.

HD Voice calls are billed as standard voice calls according to your plan. No data charges apply.

Mobile-to-Mobile calls that happen to be HD Voice calls are charged just like traditional Mobile-to-Mobile calls and are billed against your monthly minute allowance according to your plan.

A video call is an HD Voice call combined with real-time video. The voice portion is billed as a standard voice call, according to your plan. The video portion is billed as data, according to your data plan. No data charges apply to video calls transmitted over Wi-Fi.

Note: An average 1-minute video call uses about 6 - 8 MB of data. The actual data consumption of your video call may vary. You can estimate your data usage using our online Data Usage Calculator.

It is. Not sure if AT&T has it or not. I know they have HD calling BUT you must have 4G LTE.

Your comment does not fully make sense. I'm pretty sure that AT&T has 4G LTE on their network.

But it's not everywhere. :( Just wanted to let you know is, it will only work with LTE. I had AT&T and only had 3G/4G and couldn't use HD calling at all. That's when I found out it wouldn't work since I didn't have LTE in my area.

That is very unsettling to think that other people can call in "using video camere calling option automatically ' without asking you , and/or-without your prior consent.
