I have a Nexus 7 2013, using a rooted custom ROM (PureNexus - Android 6.0.1) and I have an issue with both camera. Both of them become slow after a while. They start quick, the frame rate is nice and stable. After like 1 hours, the frame rate is about the half of it. And gets even worse. It's not the camera software. I tried different camera softwares. Affects photo quality too, since it's slow and moving around makes it really blurry. I am using IP Webcam and same. It runs fluidly, I am using my Nexus 7 as a webcam for game recording face cam, but after a while it becomes very slow. Changing to front camera doesn't help, it is already slow when I change to it.
While I mentioned I am using a custom ROM, it happens with other ROMs too. Actually I put this one to my device a day ago. It was an issue with the factory one too and the other custom ROM too what I used. I formatted my device 100% before flashing this ROM. So all the partitions were empty.
It's annoying, because only restarting the system helps, it becomes quick again, but starts to slow down. It's not true about the whole system, it runs smoothly even after using it for hours.
I also must mention, I'm using my rear camera at 640x480 for IP Webcam, I don't need more for what I am using for, but still, the issue is there even at such low resolution. 176x144 is the lowest IP Webcam can use, and it's slow.
Is it possibly a hardware issue? Or something Android related? I actually reinstalled my important software immediately after flashing this new ROM so I couldn't check out if it's different without specific programs.
