Is therected any way I can tap anywhere on the screen to take pictures.

Just got this phone today. Am about to go exchange it if I can't.

Not that I can see. You can probably download a camera app from the Play Store that gives you that capabilities.

Why not enable the voice option where you can say certain words to trigger the device to snap the pic. Seems better than having to touch the screen, which makes the shot a lot less stable.

For the front one their definitely is idk about the rear I'm sure their Is
 
You can enable use if volume buttons to take a pic also

From my AT&T Platinum Gold Note 5
 
Touching the screen when using the camera is better used for specific area focus. Voice control of the shutter is a much better way of getting the picture you want with less chance of camera shake or framing errors IMO.
 
Mine came with a widget that has SNotes, the camera and like 3 other apps or functions. It's rectangular shaped.
