Camera Shootout: G4 VS S6 VS iPhone 6

They should have stuck a high-end Lumia in there as well. They are not ENTIRELY unknown for their excellent cameras. :)

If any comparison articles they've posted in the past are any indication, it will be somewhere along the lines of 'iPhone wins even though it wasn't even close to in each category'. Although in this case it might actually be too close to call haha They're all really good cameras.

Good write up. For most people there's no big advantage of any of the three. For my needs RAW is important, so the G4 is up there, although I'll shoot raw and do post processing with Lightroom infrequently. The deciding factor in buying a phone among these three won't be the camera - they're too close.

I'm happy with the G4 and S6. both have great cameras. anyone know if g4 has the double tap feature?

The double tap on home button to open the camera? It probably doesn't since that's not a 'standard' shortcut. But it's not patented either (unless they're pulling an Apple and 'inventing' double taps) so it could have been implemented. I don't own one (yet) so I can't say for sure.

Good question for Russell in the sticky post above :)

Why wouldn't it?

I just read that it doesn't have it where u hit the screen if it's off, it's in the volume button. the screen double tap works only if it's off.... it's not a given that every phone will have this just cause the S6 does

Oh, I thought you were talking about double tapping the screen to turn it on and off, which LG started (for android) with the G2.

Double tap the volume down button from any screen or screen off for it to immediately take a picture.
