Camera Storage location toggle - what does it do?

I searched here as well as Google and I can't for the life of me figure out what the "store location" on/off toggle does in the camera menu. There isn't a SD card on the phone so what's its purpose? What's it do?

Maybe it stores the location data. Like what city you are in when you took the picture.

"Geolocation" would have been a better term, I'd say.

Yes, it embeds your network or gps location in the image's exif data. Also known as geotagging
