Can a dirty flash affect battery life?

Been smooth sailing on CM10 M1 w/ ktoons kernel since it's release. Got a wild hair last night and dirty flashed the latest CM nightly and I'm seeing a marked decrease in battery life even after restoring the custom kernel and settings. I did not wipe my data, just the cache and Davlik. Anyone have any experience with this? My battery life is pretty terrible now.

It could, depending on whatever ghosts and gremlins are left behind in your /data partition. When in doubt, do a full wipe :).

This. I am finding that with the GS3 dirty flashing does more harm then good. When I did a couple dirty flashes with nightlies I had issues with data connectivity and random reboots so I would recommend that you clean wipe every time you flash on the GS3.

Ugh. It's just so annoying after spending hours on my home and lock screens ;-).

Yes yes TiBU restore but still. I seem to only be having issues with screen on battery life. It ticks down way too fast for my liking.

Why don't you use a launcher like Nova, you can backup your homescreens and launcher settings which makes restoring so much easier.
