Can a microSD card be too fast for a phone?

I already have my 8G microSD card half full, so I'm looking ahead. I've read that I should get a Class 6 card. The specifications page for the phone on the htc site and the AT&T site don't give any specs for the sim card. The new online manual for the phone says only that the phone supports both 1.8V and 3V cards.

Newegg is presently out of stock on the Transcend 16GB Class 6 card, but they have the Transcend Class 10, model number TS16GUSDHC10 for only a dollar more than the Class 6 would be if they had it. Would this card be o.k. for my phone? Is there another 16GB card that you would recommentd instead?

Class 10 cards tend to run fine. As far as better, that depends on brand and price. Amazon has them as well.

The card that comes with the inspire is a class 4. This is fine for the capabilities of the 720p recording function of the camera.
