Can a rom of a phone work on another phone that shares the same internal components?

A rom of a phone can work on another phone that share the same internal components?

Hey! kind of a dumb question here, you see I'm new at this stuff, so I rather ask before crashing my phone

So, I have an Amazon Fire Phone with the snapdragon 800, 2gb of ram and a 13mp camera, and I wan't to install a rom made for the nexus 5 (The CM -12.1). Now as I understand, the nexus 5 share the same componentes, except for the display and the camera. the display in the fire phone is a 720p, and on the nexus 5 is a 1080p display. The firephone has a 13mp camera and the nexus 5 has an 8mp camera.

So my question is: the rom for the nexus 5 can work on the firephone?
