Android Central Question

I have a samsung a20, and recently it started acting weird.
First it kinda blocked my wifi, for example, the internet would be down in my a20 while i could use it on my pc just fine.
Then it stopped charging, i thought it was water damage so I put it in some rice, it wasn't.
I've taken it to a repair center. The clerk thought it was a software mistake or possibly a virus.
Needless to say, I'm a bit confused.

Welcome to Android Central! Is water damage a possibility -- i.e., did you actually drop it in water at some point? The rice trick usually doesn't help, so that doesn't exclude water damage.

Does it work normally in Safe Mode? https://www.t-mobile.com/support/devices/android/samsung-galaxy-a20/safe-mode-samsung-galaxy-a20

Does it connect to the router? Connecting to the router, and having the router connect that connection to the internet are 2 different things.

(And putting a wet phone in rice has ruined more phones than a hammer. All you're doing is absorbing the water - concentrating all the impurities, making them destroy the phone faster. See Oh, no! My Phone got Wet! to be prepared for the next time you get a phone wet inside.)

It seems very unlikely that a virus would cause the problem, and more likely some issue with the wi-fi antenna or radio. Hopefully the technician figures it out!

so where did this end up? my A20 does not connect to any wifi source. it "sees" my router on 2.4 ghz and 5ghz, but I get an authentication error every time. the wifi password is correct. it will not authenticate on my guest wifi either, with no password.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
