Question Can a Zenfone 3 be updated from Android 8

I have a Zenfone 3. I am unable to update Android - has anyone been able to update a Zenfone 3 ?(Recently) ASIS have been zero help.

Your only option would probably be to install a custom ROM, which may be tricky depending on your technical skill level. That's also assuming that any exist. Go to XDA and have a look there.

My advice would be to bite the bullet and upgrade though.

Welcome to Android Central! I agree with fuzzylumpkin. FYI, ASUS has been zero help because there's no help for them to provide. Phone manufacturers will provide support for as long as they're officially supported, but afterwards, you're on your own. The Zenfone 3 was released in 2016, and probably got official updates for only 2 years. These days, manufacturers like Google and Samsung provide much longer support, but ASUS is still behind the curve.
