Can an s7 receive security updates for an s6?

[Android Central Question]

I just did a system update on my s7 last night and was prompted to do so again tonight. I noticed that its an update for security purposes for an s6. Im not sure if this is normal? Why would my s7 be receiving update prompts for an s6? Upon checking system updates it notes that my "s6" has been updated.
