Can anyone give me advice on my under-performing Galaxy S5?

Lately, my phone has been really slow. I notice this because as I flip through the home pages, I notice a hint of lag. In addition, when I press the back button on the button of the phone, it does not light up, so there obviously is an issue here. What can be done to reverse these effects? The only significant thing I remember doing before this happened was downloading some keyboard applications which I uninstalled shortly after.

Update: Problem solved. What's crazy is the root of the problem: power saving mode. How is it that this could cause a sharp decrease in device performance?

It does indeed do that. I was about to suggest a Cache Partition wipe and an app Cached Data clear in Storage. Glad you've solved it.

I believe Samsung's "power saving mode" did affect the clock speed of CPU
