can anyone give me an honest review of the camera?

Does the 8mp camera have a setting to take multiple pictures with just one press of the button, similar to what some dumbphones, such as the LG dare and samsung alias 2, had?

I have two kids and I need a decent camera on my phone. The dare one was great for that, out of 9 pix you know you'd get one good one. This 2mp camera on the bb curve is KILLING me.

What's your honest opinion of the camera? I know its 8mp, which is obviously outstanding, but how good is it, really? Thanks!

in good light settings it's quite good, in the dark, it's decent.

honestly, it's a very good camera for a smartphone that is this small and thin.

it's WAY better than the camera on the curve (i'm assuming you have the old curve) and i think it takes better pictures than my tour did.

it won't replace a point and shoot camera, but it is good enough in a pinch.

afaik, you can't have it do a burst of photos, but there may be an app in the market that can do that.

this was taken by the incredible in pretty good light...

yes, i have the 8330 and the camera is godawful. by the time the picture takes after i press the trackball my son has moved onto something else. plus its 2mp so even if i get the shot i cant do anything with it aside from simply look at it on the phone. one of the many things irritating me....

68 days until my NE2...and my Incedible...

thanks...i was trying to figure out how to "thank you" so it showed up in your profile but i couldnt....sorry...still new.....

lol, no worries.

fwiw, the thank you button is at the bottom of the post (says "thanks")

:)

also, the camera is much faster than other smartphone's i've had, for the most part it's near instant (as instant as a cell phone camera can be for now)

I haven't used the actual camera. I downloaded vignette from the app store.

I took a bunch of pictures at a wedding with it yesterday and from what I could tell they were pretty decent.

I haven't uploaded them to a computer yet, but I was happy with it.
:D

When you turn the sharpness down they actually don't look like ****.

When you do that the pictures are incredible.

vignette? i'll look into it

The camera is simply the best of any smartphone on the market. If you need a really good camera, then buy a camera.

The camera is one reason I bought the phone.

It won't replace my DSLR. or my new P&S, but it may replace my old P&S...

Okay...dudewhattheheck...props to you for bringing up Vignette. That app is amazing! The post- processing options are fantastic. That single app replaced three camera apps I had on my phone. Brilliant!

to the OP, keep in mind with the higher resolution it may take longer for you to take repeated photos. I THINK there are apps in the Market that allow you to take multiple pictures from one click but those usually reduce the quality.

Also keep in mind you have options to change the ISO on the Incredible's camera for faster well lit photos. Great outdoors.

Also, if you want to be able to take high res photos quickly invest in a premium micro SD card that processes the photos to memory faster or lower the resolution.

I came from a Blackberry Curve 8320. This HTC Incredible is light years ahead.

the LED flash on the camera is terrible. it always gives the photo a bluish color, and way over exposed. I always turn off the flash.

Its not a bad camera by any means. Mega pixels dont really make a good camera but most of us already know that. There is very little shutter lag and the colors seem pretty cool. My problem has been focus points. I can take a picture of something and it seems like there is always a spot in the picture (the same spot) that will be out of focus and grainy. I believe this to be a problem with my particular device and not the phone in general. I can in NO WAY get the quality of pictures some people are posting up here in the forums no matter what. As bad as it sounds I put my old ENV touch, Moto Droid, and incredible right next to each other and took the same picture of multiple things. Sadly the incredible came out in last place in every picture as far as quality, but just my opinion.

thanks. appreciate the input. just did another battery pull today for my 8330 because it randomly stoped playing any notification sound. these are going to be the longest two months of my life...

Looks great...

Pretty cool picture

I know I am going to get a lot of flack for this, but here is my 2 cents

The camera is better than my BB curve, and significantly worse than my BB Tour. Colors way off, always fuzzy, forget closeups without the exact correct light, any movement in the back ground and it gets blurry, tried to take a picture of my dog walking and it was blurry. I have a 2 year old and love to take lots of pics, but this camera wont cut it. The video is the best I have ever seen. I have even spoken with HTC about it and nothing is set wrong. BB tour was point and shoot everytime. This camera has lots of adjustments and maybe if I started to play around with them, I could get somewhere better

I will go to the verizon store and take a couple pics side by side with the tour/bold and Incredible and see what I come up with......sorry but thats my opinion. Maybe I got a bad camera, but my friends with droids (not necessarily the incredibile) also have crappy cameras too.

Those posted pics look really good, and most if not all camera phones do better outside, but I cant say I have taken one good picture outside (comparivetly)
