Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction into unlocking my phone to work with tmobile. I have already taken my phone to tmobile and got set up with their unlimited prepaid services for $50 a month. I can use my phone to make calls and use wifi but a lot of the time when I go to make a call it says network not available then I have to add tmobile under network settings. I can not receive or send picture messages either. I was told by tmobile that I need to get my phone unlocked inorder to get the phone to work on their towers. Any help would be greatfully appreciated. If this has already been asked before please let me know what the link is thank you :D

Just have to call Verizon customer support, they can walk you through the process.

Can you do this? The Verizon GS3 is CDMA, T-Mobile is GSM...

You may have different luck, but I thought this was true?

LTE is technically a gsm tech and functions on different bands based on chip and software radio differences. LTE may not work. Most Verizon LTE capable devices have the hardware, etc to make calls, receive texts and sometimes use 3G data on gsm networks, if APN settings, etc are modified.

The Verizon GS3 i535 will only get EDGE on T-Mobile's network, period.

Forget LTE and HSPA. You won't get it.

EDGE is the best you will get, anywhere, on that network with this device.

The OP is better off either trading his device for a T-Mobile GS3 (LTE) or selling his and buying a 2nd hand T-Mobile GS3 (LTE)

You may be able to get 3G on AT&T. But I have to check the bands again to see.
