Can Best Buy samsung tech update att Phone?

I am beyond frusterated with the complete lack of updates on my AT&T S8. No updates since April 2017. My phone thinks it is up to date. Called samsung support. They told my to download smart switch on my PC and check for updates that way. When i try to open the app, I get an error saying side by side configuration is incorrect. Can best buy work on AT&T phones?

If I factory reset it as it currently is will it reboot and realise the software and security is out of date?

If the ATT Update is available, yes, they can do it. ATT usually locks down their phones so that they can only be updated if you're using an ATT SIM card, so if you unlocked it and are in a different carrier, that might be blocking it. BestBuy kiosks should be able to update though, again, if the update is available and only stores that have a Samsung Experience area (or whatever they call it now).

Depends on what's 'blocking' the update. It might work, or it might still be blocked.
