Now that XDA has demonstrated that the N1 can shoot HD Video in 720p, does anybody know if the Droid's hardware is capable of doing the same?

hardware is most likely not the problem. Its just a matter of getting the software together. Honestly though 720p isnt going to make the images much better, its just gonna use up more sd card space.

No kidding. 720p with the Droid's sensor is going to make for some awful HD video -- with the exception, possibly, of video shot in bright sunlight.

Speaking of HD, will the Droid 2 have an HDMI output like the HTC Incredible and EVO?

HTC Incredible doesn't have HDMI output. It uses a usb proprietary cable. The EVO is the only phone right now that does HDMI out.

the Motorola xt7110 the one with the side hump has HDMI out. Provably should point out or processor isn't capable of 720p incident or decode
