Samsung fuses the display to the glass correct? So there is no way dust can get under the screen.

I ask because there is a piece of dust that is either under the screen protector or under the screen. I don't think it was there before so I was worried some dust weaseled its way in there. I don't want to take the screen protector off cuz they are a pain to get on in he first place.

Most of my other Androids were HTC which are notorious for dust under the screen. So I'm kinda paranoid.

if it wasnt there before the screen protector then thats where it is pal. yeah the glass is bonded to the display so nothing can get in there (and its very expensive to replace)
id take the screen protector off incase the particle is hard enough to damage the glass ;)

I don't think it is under the screen itself. However, some units of Blackberry Bold 9900 (which I used to own) had this issue where dust get in between the OEM screen and the digital panel. I am not sure if this is similar to that.

I work with blackberries daily and it's very easy for dust to get under the screen. After disassembling so many of them I will say it's probably nowhere near as easy to get dust under the screen of an S3 or iPhone. Matter of fact, my Droid 2, iPhone 3G (both after 2 years of use), and my wife's Atrix to which she keeps in her pocket book all have no dust under the screen. Older models of blackberry used to have a plastic outer screen and most times the dust got under there, not into the actual screen itself. I've taken many apart and simply cleaned the inner plastic screen and actual screen and given the unit back to the user looking brand new. I wouldn't worry about it much at all unless you keep the phone in your pants pocket all the time. If you do, then no matter what you stand the chance of dust working it way into the underlying screen layer over some long length of time.

It's in my pocket but in a case. It's only been out of a case for about a day. I thought the case would help.

how much will it cost to replace screen protector/new screen? pull it off :)

Now I am not saying that it can not happen...I just say that its likely under your screen protector. Remove it and find out! Better safe than sorry?

My ATT model has no dust under its screen that I am aware of.

No dust under mine either and I work in a VERY dusty environment... I can't say the same for under the Otterbox screen....which I usually take apart once a week to clean out. When I had my old screen replaced, it seemed like there was a fair amount of glue that the repairman had to remove in order to get it off.

I have more screen protectors at home. I just hate having to put them on. It's a pain. I might take it off in a little while. If it's highly unlikely that it's under the screen then I'm not too worried about it.
