Can front start screen be changed?

Can I change any of these widgets because I want the bottom one to be GoSMS Pro because that's what I use for messaging.

Yes... you can. I disabled the built in text messaging app and the Go SMS Pro icon showed up on the start/unlock screen.

I have the stock app disabled in favor of handcent, and I still receive pictures.
