Does the Galaxy Tab A model SM-T550 support taking photos in RAW image format?

Yes it can if you load a RAW decoder app. Try this one.

Clarification: You may have been asking if the tablet's camera can capture an image in RAW format as opposed JPEG. The answer is that it cannot. If you are asking if the tablet can open and view a RAW image that has been moved to the tablet then the above app will do that. I am not sure why anyone would want to move RAW images to the tablet.

To confuse the confusion, no computer can "take" any file, apps (or programs) take files. An app that handles RAW format can take a RAW format file. Whether a computer can "take" a file depends on the hardware format - an Apple ][ can't "take" files from Commodore disks - any files. But a plain text file on one disk can be taken by the other computer if you have a program that can read the other computer's disks. The problem doesn't occur in cellphones, except with SD cards, and any cellphone can read another cellphone's FAT32 or exFAT SD card, as long as the card isn't encrypted or otherwise "handled" some way (like making it possible to store apps on it, although that may become standard some day too).
