Can I add a shared account just for photos?

Hoping someone can help me with what I'm trying to do and if it works like I hope?

So the wife and I have our own google accounts on our androids but I would like to set up a shared google account mainly for photos.
So in my case, my phone would have me@gmail setup on the device and I add shared@gmail.

I would like the shared@gmail account to handle photos uploading, so I would disable auto-upload and google photos sync on me@gmail and enable them on shared@gmail (but nothing else synced on that account).

1. Would the phone then act as it would normally without me worrying about the other account? So would gmail, google play, google+ etc automatically default to my main account and such without me having to choose accounts every time I do anything?

2. Would the photos albums synced with the shared account (but not on the main account) still show in the gallery/google+ photos apps?

3. If I wanted to manually share a photo from my camera, how would I ensure that photo went to the shared@gmail account?

Hope that all makes sense, I am a fairly long-time android user but never tried dealing with multiple accounts on one device.

Have you considered a shared Google Drive folder in one of the accounts?
