Change nexus 7 owner

Any way of changing the main user on a nexus 7 without losing everything? Recent death in the family (owner) I am on the device as a user, but now wish to be the main one. If I can avoid a factory reset that would be great as there are films, music and photo's that make us smile that we don't want to loose, but fear we probably will.
Thanks.

Re: Change nexus 7 owner

Welcome to Android Central! Our condolences for your recent loss. If the music, videos, and photos are locally stored in folders, then you could go to Settings>Accounts-Google>[decedent's account], tap Menu, and Remove Account. Now you can add a new Google account. I think any apps associated with the account may end up being uninstalled, but I'm not sure.

Remember, the media files in question have to be locally stored. If they were being displayed because they were in the original owner's Google+ cloud photo albums, then they won't be viewable any more on the tablet once the account is removed.
