Can I charge my phone on the wireless charging pad without removing my otter box?

I recently had to replace my phone after three weeks because the charging flap fell off after constantly opening and closing. Since then, I purchased the samsung wireless charging pad, which a fellow Sony Xperia owner uses and loves, however, it is unable to read my phone when the Otter box is on it. Because it's a constant hassle to remove the case every time I want to charge my phone, is there something I could do or another tough case I could get?
