Can I duplicate videos in google photos on my pixel phone?

[Android Central Question]

I recently switched from Apple to Android and I am missing the feature where I could easily duplicate photos and videos in my photo library for the sake of editing. Is there a way to do this that I'm not understanding? I just want an exact copy of a video so I can crop that one without fear of losing the original.

Which version of android?
Which carrier?
Which photo viewing app?

Most of the good editors make it difficult to overwrite the original file.
