Can I enable Work Profile on S22?

My company uses an app to manage all email, tasks, calendar, stuff like that. One of the requirements of having work email on my phone is that they have forced me to install a VPN and I think it's running all the time. In VPN settings, it is not turned on to run all the time, but the little vpn icon is always on up by the time and battery symbols.

1. Is there a way to enable a work profile and separate this work app into that profile and run other apps in personal profile?
2. Is my VPN always on even though that option is not checked?
3. Can my work see everything I do on my phone, including browser activity and app usage?

As far as Work Profile goes you definitely can have one. The way it works through my job is I have to install a specific app from my company, then sign in using my work credentials and follow the steps from there. I'm not sure of a way for you to create a specific work profile on your own though. When using the Work Profile through my company they can only see things done on the work profile. Anything done on the personal profile is completely separate and they can't see it.

Yes, I'm trying to create a work profile on my own, as my company's MDM doesn't provide for a separate profile just for work. I'm fairly certain it can be done on a Pixel 6 but can't find any information about it on the S22 series.

Well, it seems that a work profile can only be created if your employer sets it up that way via MDM solution. So now I have this VPN running 24/7 on my phone and all traffic goes through it. UGH

Old thread, I know but for those landing here. Another way to possibly do this is with the Island app.

It will depend on what a company uses as its mobile device management solution (i.e. Intune, Google, etc.). I worked for a company that used Microsoft services, and required me to use a VPN to use them on my personal devices. I could turn the VPN off and use a personal VPN for doing personal stuff.

Our company provided devices had that VPN provider installed and turned on by default.
