I am currently staring at a cellphone screen that says 'This version of WhatsApp became out of date on Dec 11, 2019. Tap 'Download' below to get the latest version from the Google Play Store.' My phone is a HiSense.
As far as I know, this indicates I don't have space problems.
I visited a shop and first bought 500 MB data, because the shop suggested this amount, then they installed Google Play then the latest Whatsapp version. By comparing the data balance before and after the installation, I worked out that the size of the installation was about 37 MB, which approximately agrees with the 33.25 size above. When I returned to the house I saw your answer. Had I seen it before I would only have bought 100 MB but at least now I know.
Thanks for clarifying that the question was about data plans and the needed quotas for the download.
