Can some tell is the new update good on battery life or it doesn't really mess with it and if I root and keep stock recovery will I still get my sprint updates

Your OTA update will fail if you try it on a rooted device. This is what I've always have been told but it may be different with the stock recovery.

It didn't really effect the battery life on my phone.
