Help needed with auto-correct filling email addresses and deleted languages

Hello,

On my Samsung S6 Edge+, the default samsung keyboard autocorrect is driving me mad.

Problem 1:
Previously I installed multiple languages for auto correct so I could text different folks in different languages, then I decided to uninstall and disable those other languages, but auto correct still has the entire dictionary of foreign languages loaded and there doesn't seem to be an option to remove those other than word by word as I type...

Problem 2:
Since my phone is synced with my gmail, whenever I start typing any words, it will suggest random people's email addresses in the autocorrect which I can't seem to disable. I am not even typing in the "To" field of any email either, just googling things or texting.
I checked my contacts list on gmail but that's empty. It seems to just have memorised every single person I ever emailed even 10 years ago. Short of deleting those old emails, how do I get rid of those email address suggestions from my autocorrect?
Again, there doesn't seem to be an option to turn those email suggestions off and I can't even delete these ones from the autocorrect list - doing so says "are you sure", I confirm, and next time I start typing a few characters, that same email address gets suggested again!

Thanks in advance!

Long press and delete the suggestion. It's driving me nuts, too

Hello Ghost, welcome to the forums! Also, if you frequently use your keyboard with different languages I recommend you to give SwiftKey a try. You don't need to switch between them and suggestions and auto correction work great.

Thanks for the welcome.
Is there any way short of installing an alternative app to resolve the problems?

Reading the reviews on swiftkey in google play seems to suggest that a proportion of people have problems with it regarding autocorrect, especially with short words and predictions?

I think the best way could be deleting those auto corrections one by one, as Pugs said. It's that or deleting your personal dictionary and start from scratch.

About SwiftKey. I've been using it from a long time and works great for me. I use three different languages and sometimes I even have to mix them in the same sentence. I've noticed that suggestions and auto correction work better if you swipe instead of type.

I just had the same issues and it drove me absolutely nuts. I would even try to remove the addresses one by one, but they would come back! Here's your solution... Don't use the standard Samsung keyboard or the Google keyboard. I switched over the the Swype keyboard and the addresses went away. SwiftKey also worked, but I just didn't like it's layout. Still trying to get used to losing the menu button with the S6. Only drawback thus far.

The latest Google keyboard allows you to remove the address book from the dictionary so this doesn't happen. It's a basic keyboard and not very pretty, but it works fine to solve this problem.

On my Nexus 6P running Nougat, the Phone app has an option in the overflow menu (at the upper right) for Clear Frequents, which gives the following message:

"You'll clear the frequently contacted list in the Contacts and Phone apps, and force email apps to learn your addressing preferences from scratch."

So this might do the trick. I haven't tried it myself, so let us know if it works for you!
