Droid Turbo wifi issues

Hello, I know this question has been answered many times, and I know a simple google search comes up with many results, but none of the other solutions I found helped.

Anyway, I have a Droid Turbo from Verizon, and now suddenly it will not connect to the wifi. Also, it is on android version KitKat 4.4.4.

I have tried:
1. forgetting and reconnecting
2. rebooting
3. factory reset
4. changing routers security type from WEP to WPA and WPA2
5. changing security type back to WEP
6. turning off then on, the password on the modem
7. changing the password

The results from the above attempts in order:
1. looping between connecting and "saved, secured with wep"
2. same as above
3. same as above
4. connecting, then incorrect password (yes, I checked many times if it truly was incorrect)
5. same as one
6. connecting, then showing that I am too far away (the modem is actually in arm's reach from me)
7. incorrect password again

Any help at all would be appreciated, even if I need to hack my phone somehow I will!

1. try a simple password with no special characters - example - nate2015.
2. try changing WIFI router channel.

good luck.
