Can I get some help with WiFI problems with my Samsung Note 4 on my home wifi?

First let me say no other phone or device of any kind in our house has any problems with connecting to our home wifi.

Don't know how to make it connect to my home WiFi automatically. Sometimes it will log on immediately when I am in range, automatically, and remembers my password. However sometimes I have to use my WiFi app to make it connect. To make matters even more frustrating is that it refuses to accept my password to log onto my home WiFi. In a public place, which has a working WiFi connection it usually does fine.

This is really getting on my nerves since I just got the phone less than two weeks ago. I am an AT&T customer. I could take it back, pay a restocking fee, and get Iphone 6 like my wife did, but I am crazy about the screen size and resolution of this phone.

Have you tried rebooting the router? Also, in the advanced settings of wifi, there may be an option called avoid poor connections. See if that is checked or on.

My Note 4 on 5.1.1 just started this yesterday. Gets as far as "obtaining ip address sometimes but usually hangs at "connecting" and goes off on another search. It was working fine since forever before yesterday. No changes in the routers. Last try was boosting the routers signal strength and then "forgetting all the connections; no help. Rest of the LAN is fine.
