Can I reset my lock screen password?

can i reset my lock screen password

while i was messing around with my messaging settings i created a new password so that i could customize the lock screen notifications. now i cant get into my phone because i forgot my new password. i really dont want to factory reset my phone because i have of ton of pictures on my phone that are really important to me. Please please please help.

i reposted because i dont know how to respond to messages(i dont have an account on this site) but i havent gotten the screen that asks you to put in your google account info. and in case it helps i have a galaxy s4 with verizon
