Can i retrieve accidentally deleted photo for HTC One M8

I took a photo of my newborn baby and created a seperate folder in my gallery
I deleted a photo from the camera shots thinking I had already moved it into her own folder but on checking had not done, so now have lost the only image of it I had.
I had dropbox sync switched off and no other cloud folders running.

I've looked online for programs but after downloading and trying to run they crash and I sometimes get virus warnings if proceeding with them so I just stop.

Does anyone know if its possible to recover this one photo, I don't want to risk my phone/laptop security etc so if its gone its gone but I would like to get it back if possible.
