When i traded my N7V1 for the N7V2 i was their first trade and they didn't know what they were doing. I was there for 2 hours and there was a line of N7 owners there behind me for a trade as well. Finally they opened up a N7V2 and powered it on, set it up for me and told me "that was it, have a nice day". Well they did something wrong because now when i try to turn in my N7V2 they say the phone i have is not listed to me so they can't take it back. Called Tmobile and they did the "ticket" thing which turned out to be them crediting what i put down on the original N7 towards my current phone (S7 edge) but i still have the N7V2.

I was wondering if it would be possible to root it and install Nuogat since i might as well keep it now and give my wife my new S7 edge. Its was updated last week and now only charges up to 60% if that matters. Thanks.

I think you need to not worry about rooting it and put you and your family's Safety first and return the device.

So... You've been paid back what you paid for the phone? If so... Call Samsung - and have them ship you a return box since you've been refunded. It's no longer "your" phone...

As for root - I don't think anyone has successfully rooted the phone, and now that it's a dead device, no one is going to waste their time attempting to root the device.

They have been rooted. If you wish to do that, the info is out there. I was a diehard holdout, but once I got the battery crippling update it became very aggravating. I reluctantly swapped for an S7 Edge a few days ago.
