So I have been playing around with my girlfriend's android phone and have been trying to figure out how to run python on it. I downloaded SL4A with the python interpreter and it works ok I guess... but what I really want is to run it from the terminal emulator. Python works on the phone through SL4A but every time I type

$ python

on the command line I get a permission denied error. Its seems like it should work since it works fine in SL4A but I can't figure it out. If anyone can help me out, that would be awesome.
I realize that it may not work since the phone is not rooted. In that case it would still be helpful to know how to get python working if I were to root the phone. Thanks!

Sorry it has taken us so long to get back to you.

These are questions for the rooting forum for your phone. I don't know exactly where to send you but they are all listed here:
