Android Central Question

I just bought a Samsung S20 FE 5G that I will receive in December to replace my Motorola phone I've had the last few years. I'm not getting the Samsung charger with this phone. Can I safely use my Motorola QC 3.0 18W 5V 3A charger for my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G phone?

The brick is a QC 3.0 Motorola "TurboPower" fast charger so wouldn't it still perform as a fast charge for my new phone? Unfortunately the cable is not USB C so I will need to buy a cable at least.

It will charge faster than a standard 5V 2A charger, if that's what you're asking. I don't know the capabilities of that Samsung phone, so I personally can't answer if the phone could accept an even faster charge current.

On the plus side, charging slower is better for the battery in the long run due to less heat being generated. Ian A to C cables are also common enough to find. I typically use Volutz brand cables from Amazon, which have served me well over the years.

As long as the charger is made by a reputable company (i.e., not some no-name charger sold for dirt cheap on a questionable site like Wish or Banggood), it should never be dangerous to use on any device.

I like Anker chargers and cables and have used those on several different devices, including two Samsung products.

Yes it will charge a little faster compared to a 15W 2A, but not as fast as a 25W charger. But I prefer not to use a 25W charger because of the heat generated. Like you said slower charging is better for the battery.

Thanks but I'm not looking to max out the charging capability for a faster charge time. I think it's better for the long term life of the battery to keep it cooler while it's charging. I would think the 25W would generate quite a bit more heat at each charge.
