Can I send Android notification sounds through bluetooth into car speakers ?

When I play audio files or streams on my phone, they're able to go through the car speakers no problem via bluetooth. If I get a call (regular or whatsapp) then that will also come through the speakers (and even pause what I was listening to on the phone).

The only sounds the phone makes that don't come through are navigation sounds (e.g. from Waze) and notification sounds. Is there any way to do that? The reason I ask is that if I'm listening to music on my car's own media system at a loud level (radio, sd card, etc) and my phone wants to notify me of something, even at maximum phone volume, it's not loud enough to be heard. If the notifications were to play through my speakers (and even mute my audio like a phone call does) that would be ideal.

I'm guessing it's not possible because on my car's media system I choose either to listen to sounds it makes by itself (radio, sd etc) or it lets me listen to bluetooth streaming. So one cancels out the other. But maybe there's hope because when it comes to phone calls, they'll cut in and take over the speakers briefly while the call is in progress. So the bluetooth connection does allow that even when not streaming audio from the phone, so in theory regular phone notifications or any other audio should be able to do that if it wanted to.

Extra info:

Pixel 6 Pro, Android 13, Tasker, NOT rooted (and don't plan to root it), no Android Auto either.

That looks all good, is this a stock radio or aftermarket?

Completely stock phone and completely stock Mercedes NTG (5.2 I think).

When I have the phone playing music or a podcast and have the car system set to device = BT streaming audio then I hear audio from the phone through the car speakers just fine.

If I'm listening to something on the car's standard audio system though and the phone then gets a call, it'll interrupt (pause) the car's audio and take the call through the car's speakers. So as far as full capabilities go, I think that's the full house.

But ..... if I'm listening to the car's audio system, jamming some sick grooves from an SD card for example, and an app on my phone (Waze or something else that runs in the background) has an announcement (e.g. Waze saying "there's a speed camera up ahead") I won't hear it because even at max volume, the phone can't get audible over some bangin' tune rockin' through the Burmesters.

Thanks :) I think receiving a Whatsapp message is probably the easiest way to test it. That also doesn't come through.

I've got a workaround to my particular issue but will still be interested in a solution where I don't have to do this.

The issue was based on me listening to music on my car's own audio system at a volume level where I couldn't hear any notification sounds my phone was playing (whatsapp, waze, email). I've decided that rather than have my MP3's on an SD card and play them via the car's built-in player, I instead put the MP3's on the phone and play them there and have my car's system set to play audio from the phone. In terms of listening and ability to control the music, it's not much difference. The key thing is that as all audio is being sent from the phone to the car via bluetooth, it also sends the notification sounds too (whilst reducing the music volume at the same time). Ideal. I heard notifications from gmail, whatsapp, and a speed camera alerting app. Not sure about Waze yet, I'll need to do another test for that one.

I couldn't come up with much except maybe put phone on DND and not let notification through?

That would be worse. I want the notifications, I want to hear them over/interrupting the music. My current workaround is pretty good, playing my music from the phone instead of on the car's own audio system does help the notifications be heard because the phone is already streaming the audio full time to the car.
