Can i switch att g2 to verizon? i have an account with both but only my att is available for an upgrade and i need the phone for verizon ( of course ). I have tried searching threads with not much luck figured i ask here. Anyone know if i can unlock it for use with verizons 4glte network. thanks

Seeing it's technically a "world phone", you could connect it to the Verizon network if you got it unlocked. The only problem you will face is terrible network speeds (edge I believe). AT&T has a gsm network, while Verizon has a cdma network. Because of this, the wcdma radio inside of the phone would have to be used. This radio is made for worldwide connections, it isn't fine-tuned to the Verizon network. It won't be able to work with many bands Verizon uses. I hope this answers your question

EDGE is GSM based assuming that the LTE bands aren't compatible (likely the case) you would be stuck on Verizon's GOD AWFUL 3G thats assuming it has the antenna for CDMA at all.
