Can I use the Gear S without a sim.

I don't see why any of the watches wouldn't connect via bluetooth to a Samsung phone.

I bought my Gear S outright from Sprint and never activated it! In my opinion it is a unnecessary to pay extra for a data plan for a watch that does everything you need it to do via bluetooth. The only option you lack is for someone to be able to call or text your watch directly. It seems at the time anyways, a hassle to have to explain to your friends to call your watch if they can't reach you on your phone!

So without an activation, you would get any calls or texts pop-up on the watch screen through Bluetooth? I work in Healthcare and that is handy if my boss texts me directions etc while I have gloves on or such. This is what I am looking for. Also, I live in BC in Canada....anyone have Canadian experience with this?
