Can LG G7 ThinQ be unlocked without using fingerprint sensor?

I’m looking at buying this phone for my husband who uses prosthetic arms. Fingerprint sensors are no use to him. I have never had a phone with one, so not sure what the deal is. Can this phone be unlocked and used with just touching the screen (he uses a stylus)? Many thanks !

The G7 can be unlocked both my pin on the touch screen and by face, though admittedly the face feature has been hit or miss for me. For your application I would almost recommend the iPhone XR. I got my son this phone and all it has is face unlock. From what I've seen of it the unlock works very well on that phone.
