Can NFC be Disabled if using Samsung Pay?

I have NFC disabled on my S7 phone and Samsung Pay works just fine. I was wondering if the same can be done on the S3 Frontier Gear.

Will disabling NFC on the S3 cause any issues with Samsung Pay or any other functions on the watch and with pairing/syncing with the phone?

I use the watch's MST for Samsung Pay, so yes.

my NFC was on by default. I just turned it off and will test out Samsung Pay in the morning.

I don't know if you can fully disable NFC so it never comes on, but you can turn it off after using Samsung Pay and it won't turn on outside of your doing until the next time you activate Samsung Pay.

I turned NFC off. Then I used Samsung Pay. It automatically turned on NFC.

It will turn on NFC when you use Samsung Pay. There are a lot of options they could add but haven't.
