Can one replace the Droid X gallery?

Ok just to let you all know I did a search and didnt find anything here on the forums.

I was wondering if there is an apk out there or a way to replace the stock gallery on the Droid X. In all honesty I hate it. I really liked the 2.1 style of gallery.

I don't know if this has been posted before but here is the leak of the 2.1 gallery...
Huge difference!!!
Instructions:
1. Download the apk file from Gallery.apk.zip- http://www.mediafire.com/?gzw4zzdezoz
2. unzip the file on your computer
3. copy the apk file from that to your memory card
4. open Astro and locate the new apk file, click it and open in app manager, click install upper left corner
ENJOY! Takes about 10-15 seconds... You can also do it all directly from your phone, which is probably easier. BTW -you don't have to be rooted, only works on 2.0+ though.

EDIT: If your into installing a custom ROM.....ApeX will give you the 3D gallery also.

If your not rooted, you can get QuickPic which is faster and smoother then Picture gallery. And I have Video Play for videos which shows text of the videos instead of thumbnails.
