My battery was running really low and I checked my battery life and Android OS had a high percentage. I've uploaded a picture to show whats going on. Can anyone explain why?

That's weird. Maybe you have an app running in the background?

I'm telling ya, it's facebook. Facebook apps have a tendency to eat batt life when left on to sync.

Ok I turned sync off. We'll see how it is tomorrow. Thanks. I'll keep you guys posted.

How long was your display on for? This looks pretty normal to me especially if your on the internet a lot

I have also found Facebook apps eat up battery life when sync is on. I have mine off.

Make sure that you sign out of Facebook chat. It is a horrible drain on your batter life.

mine does this too. its been as high as 70%. i dont have facebook chat. and i have been deleting apps that i have downloaded. yet it is still high how do i get it down.

The only time my Android OS is that high is when I don't touch the phone for most of the day. Admittedly though I will get much better battery life in those cases (easily more than a day). Usually with any sort of significant usage of the phone, Display takes over the #1 spot.

From that battery screen, click in the battery graph and send a screenshot of that.

Have you stopped the AP widget from refreshing? If not, then add it to your homescreen and turn down the refresh time to something low (if you plan to use it) or off completely and turn down the scrolling time.

This is only useful if you aren't getting a long time out of your phone. If you are getting well over a day's charge on your phone, you'll probably see Android OS higher and display lower. This is natural.

i get between 11ish and 18 hours on a charge depending on signal and use. for you guys getting hours greater then that. what do you do and not do to get that time out of it ? will take a screen shot and post it later.

Here's a set of my pictures for you.

Right now I'm at 31% with about 30 minutes of phone calls too.

I would not say this is a bug. If anyone has looked at their wakelock dump they would get a better clue to what is draining their battery. For me it looked like carrieriq was a big culprit. But also, turning of auto syncing will also help tremendously. But if you want awesome battery life install Unnamed ROM that you can find in XDA. It proves that this is not an Android bug.

Heres a math problem to think about.
If your device has 95% battery remaining. That means its only used 5% total battery.
Now 100% of that 5% needs to be accounted for.
If you have not used your device much then screen time and other stuff will show low while other stuff will show high. Remember this percentage needs to be 100% of the total consumed, in this example its only 5% consumed.
So if 80% is Andriod system, thats only 80% of the 5% battery life consumed.

Frankly i get a full days use out of mine.
If my device were to get 6 hours or less then i would start to worry. If your device, with normal usage is lasting all day thne you should be ok.
If your device goes dead after a few hours,or with very little use is low at say 6 hours then yeah start to question stuff.
FYI if you look at qfnol31 last pic, it wil show he was in low to moderate signal with WIFI off, and that consumed a lot of battery.
Strong signal helps to consume less battery, being connected to WiFi also helps to consume less battery. These are the things that make a device last all day..
